Description

AI Industries, the largest structural and miscellaneous Steel Fabricator in BC is looking for a Steel Estimator to join its team.

You'll be a part of a team that does structural steel and miscellaneous steel take offs for BCs and Washington States largest steel projects including schools, office buildings, steel towers, community centers and other steel buildings.


Responsibilities:


  • Thoroughly reviewing all documents received, including Contract drawings and specifications
  • Performing a material takeoff and a labour assessment
  • Complete detailed takeoffs for quantities and materials
  • Developing a pricing structure and supplying the price to the Contractor on closing day
  • Using resources to find prospective bids ie, internet, plan rooms and reprographic companies, faxes, mailings, owner's representative.
  • Consulting with Purchasing, Production Manager and Controller to confirm pricing and fabrication schedules.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.


  • MS Office Program

  • Intermediate to advance level.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and bid specifications.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good communication skills verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail

Salary:
$50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Surrey, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- construction estimating: 1 year (preferred)
