SUMMARY:
***The Royal Canadian Yacht Club is one of Canada's premier sailing and sport Clubs. The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities: our summer home at the Island Clubhouse and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto at St George and Bloor. RCYC is currently ranked as one of the top 50 Yacht Clubs in the world and we firmly believe that much of our continued success is determined by our staff.
HOURS OF WORK:
- We have seasonal fulltime and parttime positions.
- Available, weekends and public holidays as well as various shifts (days & evenings)
- Able to work at both the City Club
- 141 St George St, and the Island Facility launch at 150 Cherry St
ROLE:
- Have full knowledge of beverage wine lists and promotions
- Ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations
- Maintain supplies in the bars; replace them when needed, including stock, fresh garnishes and clean glassware
- Ensure the lounge is attended and is kept clean and tidy at all times
- Prepare drink orders for service staff as requisitioned via chit printer
- Prepare drink orders for members and guests over counter
- Table service as required
- Assist service staff with food orders and delivering drinks to Food and Beverage outlets as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must hold valid Smart Serve certification
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays
- Energetic and flexible, able to work well under pressure
- Previous customer service experience is an asset
- Selfmotivated, creative, capable of working in a team environment
- Previous bartending experience preferred
- Knowledge of wine types and varietals as well as proper wine pour service
- Point of Sales system or Jonas Club Management experience an asset
- Command of the English language, both written and spoken
REWARDS:
- $20.80 per hour
