Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Cyber Security Analyst, this position is responsible for all network operations, providing repairs, upgrades, installs of new hardware and related software and documentation of networking components including, security and network elements.


  • Responsible for network infrastructure with a high security level. Position is part of project planning and execution, infrastructure improvements and maintenance to provide an optimal experience for all users
  • Works closely with senior IT staff and vendors to ensure all networking components are monitored, maintained, available, reliable and of enough capacity to support current and future infrastructure initiatives
  • Manages requests for support from endusers in compliance with IT standards and policies
  • Maintains active directory accounts, including the creation, deletion and modification of accounts, groups, distribution lists and network print queues in accordance with appropriate security policies
  • Works with vendors to unpack, move, install, configure, maintain and repair networking components
  • Create and maintain documentation and diagrams of data centre network components with all required information (locations, serial numbers, revision levels, software licensing, service history, etc.)
  • Creates, maintains and documents standard operating procedures to ensure system back up, security and daily procedures are effective, documented and followed
  • Performs monitoring and maintenance procedures networking components and makes recommendations for improvements in reliability, availability, incident and problem management procedures

Qualifications:


  • University degree in Computer Science or a Community College diploma with a focus on network systems (i.e. Network Administration or Computer Systems Technology/Technician)
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Network+ certification is required
  • A minimum of 3 years' previous experience in a similar role is required
  • SD WAN and cloud firewall operation and configuration experience is required
  • Additional certification and/or experience managing Active Directory is preferred
  • Strong LAN/WAN skills including firewalls, network routing, VLANs, wireless technology and troubleshooting of layer 2 and 3 switches required. HP Switch, Aruba Access Point, Palo Alto or Zscaler firewall experience preferred
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting VoIP installations; Mitel experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills are essential, including the ability to prioritize and respond to multiple demands
  • Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create network schematics using Visio
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on providing quality customer service
  • Experience with developing, auditing and/or enforcing strong security protocols and procedures related to data protection and network access is an asset
  • Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) experience is an asset

Hours of Work
7 hours per day / 35 hours per week; 12 months per year


Rate of Pay/Benefits
$40.62 per hour
