Verification Manager - Verathon

Verathon is looking for a Verification Manager to become the newest member of our Visualization Business Unit R&D Team located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Verification Manager is responsible for leading a team of test engineers, test supervisor, and testers to perform design verification and product compliance related activities to support new product development programs.

Principal Responsibilities:

Provide strong technical direction and leadership in product test, verification, and compliance
Engage in technical problem solving that affects product or project development execution
Manage a team of test engineers, test supervisor, and testers, including resource and budget planning, professional development, etc.
Lead improvement efforts for the team by setting objectives, priorities, and removing obstacles
Enable team members to operate efficiently and reach their full potential
Ensure team deliverables, such as test plans, test samples, and test reports, meet regulatory requirements.
Assess skillset needed by projects and allocate resources accordingly
Support program and engineering managers to complete design verification by following Design Control SOP
Stay current on emerging test methodologies to advance Verification team capabilities
Provide mentoring and coaching to team leads and staff
Enhance product quality continuously through product reliability assessment and evaluation
Support Verathon Quality Management System that establishes and maintains effective quality assurance processes and compliance to applicable international standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technology program
10+ years of product design verification and compliance experience
5+ years managerial experience leading an engineering or test team
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration preferred
Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in test, test automation, and product compliance
Proven ability to solve crossfunctional problems within project/program teams
Capable of leading and developing a group of highly qualified engineering professionals
Familiar with FDA, Health Canada, EU medical device requirements
Experience in medical device or other highly regulated industry is a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Salary range:
$93,000-$140,000 (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location. The salary range for this position will vary depending on the specific hiring location.)

Full-time non-sales employees are eligible for Verathon's annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
