What you will do:


The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a high energy, flexible, dynamic healthcare leader to join its team in an exciting opportunity to serve as Clinical Manager, Outpatient Systemic Therapy Program.


Reporting to the Director, Cancer Care, this position provides leadership and oversight for the delivery of systemic therapy at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre (TOHCC) and the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre (IGFCC).

This includes the coordination of services and management of nursing and clerical teams, budgets, infrastructure, and processes related to outpatient systemic treatments.


This position will oversee initiatives that improve patient experience, staff engagement, and program efficiency while upholding the vision of TOH, to provide each patient with the world-class care.


Key areas of focus include ensuring compliance in the delivery of oncology care according to the professional standards and provincial requirements, collaborating with other internal and external stakeholders, and executing on the corporate, regional and provincial priorities as it relates to the provision of high-quality cancer care.


What you will bring:


  • Baccalaureate Degree in a regulated Health Profession, Health Administration or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience in diverse positions in an acute care hospital setting, preferably including at least two (2) years of related clinical experience in systemic treatment delivery and/or oncology care;
  • Minimum of three (3) years leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership skills to support and provide direction to staff in a highly stressful and rapidly changing environment.
  • Proven ability in working effectively with all members of health care team;
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills;
  • Ability to analyze operational and clinical data to make informed decisions
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, collective agreements, Ontario Health-Cancer Care Ontario guidelines, Canadian Hospital Association Standards, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Nursing Practice and Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology frameworks.
  • Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care;
  • Knowledge of budgeting process;
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to maintain a high level of concentration in a busy working environment while managing conflicting priorities.
