Operations Supervisor (Inbound)


Location:
London, ON


Type of Employment:
Full-Time
  • Monday to Friday
What to Expect


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Ensure all inbound freight has been received
  • Call outside carriers for time of arrival and check for any delays
  • Update computer system with all inbound information daily
  • Advise Operations of any inbound delays and inform as to reason why
  • Ensure all inbound freight has been scanned, sorted and staged in correct area
  • Establish objectives and plans for work area
  • Organize work activities, equipment, supplies and materials to meet quality and productivity objectivesDetermine staffing requirements
  • Train, motivate, reward and discipline staff
  • Coordinate and direct work to meet work area's goals
  • Any additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years' dispatch or operations experience
  • Experience with transportation dangerous goods
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ATS shipping system
  • Postsecondary education is an asset
