Operations Supervisor (Inbound)

Location:
London, ON

Type of Employment:
Full-Time

Monday to Friday

What to Expect

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure all inbound freight has been received
Call outside carriers for time of arrival and check for any delays
Update computer system with all inbound information daily
Advise Operations of any inbound delays and inform as to reason why
Ensure all inbound freight has been scanned, sorted and staged in correct area
Establish objectives and plans for work area
Organize work activities, equipment, supplies and materials to meet quality and productivity objectivesDetermine staffing requirements
Train, motivate, reward and discipline staff
Coordinate and direct work to meet work area's goals
Any additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent experience
3 to 5 years' dispatch or operations experience
Experience with transportation dangerous goods
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ATS shipping system
Postsecondary education is an asset
