Reporting to the Manager, Sales and Business Development, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for both uncovering and establishing new leads and customer opportunities - within current customers and markets, and where appropriate, within new markets or new customers, or cross territories and channels - and maintaining the relationships with current CEA customers to ensure exceptional customer care is demonstrated.


You will work within an assigned sales territory, typically regionally based, to build relationships with new customers to maximize the profit opportunities within your territory.

Where your focus is on new growth development, the key outcome will be to find strategic opportunities for CEA, based on your ability to increase our presence in those markets.


You are energized by customer relationships and customer retention, and understand the need for commitment to detail and building strong relationships.

Based on the customer relationship with CEA, you are responsible for ensuring that the customer's needs and expectations are met, and that any existing or new business opportunities are attended to and/or followed up on.


  • The duties, responsibilities, and scope of this position may, from time to time, be amended, altered, or changed by Custom Energized Air Ltd. acting reasonably to meet the business needs of the organization._

Main duties

  • Building a new funnel of leads initiated through existing contacts, cold calling and business development through tradeshows and other industry specific events (70%)
  • Building qualified prospect lists; researching accounts and generating and/or following through on new sales leads.
  • Completing scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.
  • Setting up a meetandgreet with a prospect.
  • Setting up first and/or second meetings to review core needs, listen and encouraging the prospect to speak about their challenges and current situation.
  • Bringing in the Manager, Sales and Business Development where agreed.
  • Developing, maintaining and leveraging relationships with decision makers to cultivate new and repeat business.
  • Preparing and delivering sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
  • Directing or educating the customer on the appropriate product or service that will meet, or as appropriate, exceed their needs and expectations.
  • Scheduling regular meetings with customers or clients to ensure regular contact is maintained and any follow up is conducted.
  • Handing off the RFQ requirements to inside sales staff.
  • Making needed adjustments, ensuring the contract is signed, and beginning executing the deliverable.
  • Managing multiple portfolios and customers concurrently, without losing attention to the individual customer details.
  • Identifying any highrisk customers who may become a financial liability for CEA.
  • Following the organization's 360° sales engagement plan and being responsible in managing the post sale engagement as a means of upselling and extending the lifetime spend of each new customer (15%)
  • Using social media, promoting the CEA image with work completed; gathering and using customer feedback as appropriate.
  • Administering the 5question survey to customer.
  • Following up with customers within process (i.e., within 30days).
  • Sales reporting, administration (15%)
  • Ensuring that all sales targets are achieved.
  • Developing weekly, monthly and quarterly sales objectives and sales forecasts that support the overall CEA sales plan.
  • Meeting personal and team sales targets.
  • Regularly meeting with Manager, Sales and Business Development to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
  • Completing weekly reporting on sales activities and goal attainment status.
  • Maintaining and expanding client database within sales territory.
  • Preparing the requested and required reports supporting the sales plans or results within the portfolio of accounts.
  • Meeting with the Manager, Sales and Business Development on a regular basis to present the reports, status updates on the portfolio of accounts, discuss current and new opportunities, or discuss service concerns.
