Job Summary


Reporting to the Associate Director, Recruitment and Admissions, the Casual Recruitment Representative is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day recruitment efforts at Smith School of Business for the Full-Time Master of Business Administration (FTMBA) program.

More specifically, this will involve preparing presentations about the program, and participating in other forms of outreach including through social media, to varied audiences and providing a high level of administrative support to the Associate Director, Recruitment and Admissions.

This position will also support the coordination of travel required for recruitment activity.

This position requires occasional weekend and evening work.


Job Description:


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the research and development of plans for marketing the FTMBA program to potential students.

  • Participate in recruitment activities and outreach, and represent Smith at special events, on and off campus as well as virtual outreach.
  • Maintain, monitor and engage with prospective students and other stakeholders through social media tools to aid prospective student recruitment.
  • Assist with the scheduling of recruitment visits.
  • Successfully aggregating information from reports and condensing it in a tactful way for the Associate Director, Recruitment and Admissions to develop strategic plans from.
  • Assist with the scheduling of training activities and the preparation of training materials.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of FTMBA Admission and Recruitment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A university undergraduate degree

  • Five or more years in an administrative role, recruitment focus considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of university policies and priorities.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with Salesforce considered a strong asset.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to audiences of varying sizes.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Excellent presentation skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with university life and activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills as well as strong intercultural awareness.
  • Demonstrated ability in public speaking.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering online and inperson presentations
  • Ability to build rapport with audiences and deliver presentations that are persuasive and engaging in nature.
  • Ability to effectively market the benefits of a Queen's University education.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively without supervision and under pressure during extended periods away from Kingston.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and ability/willingness to adopt new technology and platforms.
  • Ability to relate to prospective applicants.

DECISION MAKING:
Prioritize work and time and decide most important tasks among several to meet deadlines.

  • Decide when to refer issues to Management
  • Determine how to respond to challenging questions from various stakeholders.
  • Assist to determine marketing strategies and content of targeted presentations.
