The Campus Security Department is responsible for the safety and security of all Students, Staff and Stakeholders at all Columbia International College Academic and Residential properties.

It is very important that a Residence Safety Monitor is dedicated to completing all assigned tasks and uphold the mission and values established by Columbia International College.

Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Monitor students during breakfast and lunch line ups.
  • Support bus loading and unloading of students with tracking system
  • Students deliveries are opened in your presence to ensure no items are against code of conduct
  • Monitor students arrival and departure during sign outs from Residence.
  • Perform regular internal and external foot patrols in all academic and residential buildings
  • Address students in violation of school policy and follow through on the appropriate discipline
  • Perform safety escorts as and when required
  • Work in the control room monitoring CCTV cameras and using radio communication
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment
  • Present a professional appearance while wearing the uniform supplied
  • Flexibility to cover vacation and sick leaves at a variety of locations and different shifts
  • Exercise good judgment and must be able to work independently
  • Maintains confidential information
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies, protocols and processes
  • Perform and abide by all COVID19 screening protocols and preventative measures
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified in CPR, 1st Aid and AED
  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time

Hours of work:


  • Must have full time availability and ability to work rotating scheduled shifts as required by business operations (including evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays)
