Position Summary
Job Description
As the help desk specialist, you will be responsible for:
Troubleshooting and debugging data issues and providing technical support to McGill Desautels students.
Understanding core needs of Instructor given projects/assignments and helping students build their technical acumen.
Support will primarily be centered on opensource technologies like Python, R, SQL, Git and (if applicable) common proprietary tools like PowerBI, Matlab, etc.
As we develop the services in the DataSphere Lab, you will get exposure to Developing, testing and deploying data solutions using Azure Cloud services and over time, can support projects/assignments in these as well.
Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in the data and cloud domains.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

A bachelor's degree or higher in statistics, information systems, management or a related field technical fields like computer science, engineering, mathematics.
Experience in data analysis, data engineering or data science using Python, R, SQL and other opensource technologies.
Exposure to cloud computing and knowledge of data modeling, ETL, data warehousing and big data concepts, would be an asset.
Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence and data visualization would be an asset.
Strong communication, problemsolving and analytical skills.
A keen interest in learning new skills and exploring new challenges.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience
