Overview:


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct and document follow‐up counseling calls with patients referred to the smoking cessation program;
  • Liaise with the smoking cessation team regarding case management, as needed;
  • Coordinate smoking cessation program activities, as needed;
  • Data input and reporting.

Basic requirements:


  • Previous experience in patient education and counselling;
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize workload;
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and adherence to protocol requirements;
  • Bilingual; Fluent in both English and French.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Registered nurse, respiratory therapist, counsellor, or equivalent;
  • Demonstrated, uptodate knowledge of smoking cessation literature;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of smoking cessation and behaviour change counselling techniques;
  • Demonstrated clinical research experience;
  • Current membership with professional association.
