Job Summary:


As a Support Clerk you will be responsible for the Provision of general Facilities support services to the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and back up to the Facilities Administrator Clerk.


You would be responsible for the daily meeting room setup, furniture adjustments or repairs (height adjustable desk, shredder, chairs, etc,).

Receiving, shipping and escort contractors during regular maintenance and repairs. Help employees with workstations adjustments, review chair and desk functions, help with monitor arms adjustment. Installation of furniture and equipment in our workspace such as height adjustable desks, monitor arms, etc. as well as being able to move and lift heavy furniture. Install asset tracking tags on all new furniture and provide information to the Facilities Administrator. Maintain Facilities storage areas, organize, clean, & move equipment in and out of storage. And any other task related to the position.


Statement of Qualifications:


Education:

Secondary school diploma or PSC approved alternatives.

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards


Experience:

Experience in techniques and practices associated with moving, dismantling, and assembling of furniture systems as specified by manufacturers.

Experience in safe work practices associated with the use of tools and equipment and the techniques of safe lifting of heavy objects.

Assets
Experience in arranging and maintaining conference and meeting rooms to meet client requirements.
Experience with asset management in asset identification, physical inventory and updating the automated asset management system.


Knowledge:

Knowledge of workplace health and safety.

Mandatory in office 5 days a week.
