Team Profile:
Legal Compliance & Corporate Governance (LCG) Technology provides operational controls and surveillance capabilities to enhance the firm's resilience to threats and fraudulent behavior.
Professionals within Legal and Compliance provide a wide range of services to our business units.
They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute.
They preserve the firm's invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world.
They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm's businesses.
The Privacy Operations team focuses on mitigating risk and operating processes that support the firm's legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations in relation to global data protection and privacy matters.
While Privacy Operations is central to the successful operation of the compliance framework, the team operates in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and first line Business Units.
Position Description:
The Privacy Operations Program Manager will report to both the Head of Privacy Operations and the Fleet and Operations Lead for Information Management.
This is a hands-on role involving managing a number of projects across multiple jurisdictions and interacting with senior representatives of various Business Units.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Project management of privacy / data protection regulatory and compliance initiatives and the Privacy Operations workbench.
- Work with stakeholders to conduct gap analysis, develop project plans and maintain uptodate list of milestones, timelines, and progress.
- Manage project timeline and meet with stakeholders regularly to get new requirements, track progress against deliverables, and followup to seek resolution for issues and risks identified.
- Escalate issues as required to the appropriate project teams, business partners or senior management.
- Document and communicate project status to project team and/or management.
- Prepare meeting materials/presentations for senior stakeholders' meetings and relevant steering committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills:
- 8+ years' experience, including significant data protection and privacy experience
- Familiarity with global data protection and privacy regulations including GDPR, CPRA, PIPL etc.
- Experience with managing large scale global projects involving multiple disciplinary areas
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and work against tight deadlines while achieving high quality outputs
- High level of attention to detail and focus on consistently producing high quality deliverables
- Understanding of cloud, data loss prevention, masking and encryption
- Understanding of data ethics and AI/ML considerations
- A positive and flexible outlook required to operate in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present ideas concisely and persuasively; strong interpersonal skill with ability to build and manage relationships with project stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
Desirable Skills:
- Financial services industry experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interact with senior management directly
- Experience with privacy tools, JIRA and data analysis
- IAPP / ISACA certifications a plus
