Interprofessional Pain and Addiction Recovery Clinic (IPARC)

Acute Care Program

Position Description


The Acute Care Program is seeking a full-time, contract (until March 31, 2024) Case Worker to work in the Interprofessional Pain Addiction Recovery Clinic (IPARC).

IPARC is a dynamic team of dedicated clinicians who support outpatients with chronic pain conditions who also have problematic medication and/or substance use, using evidence-based interventions.

The clinic is within the larger COMPASS program - an integrated research/clinical service incorporating medical treatment for the ill effects of addiction, including treatment for opioid dependence, medication for alcohol problems and outpatient withdrawal management (day detox).


COMPASS is an integrated research/clinical service incorporating medical and psychosocial treatments for addiction and concurrent disorders, including medical and non-medical treatment for opioid and alcohol use disorders, outpatient withdrawal management (day detox) as well as the treatment of clients experiencing chronic pain.

Services are provided in clinic, as well as in the community through a network of academic partners (Toronto Academic Pain Medicine Institute, or TAPMI) specializing in the treatment of clients experiencing chronic pain.


As a member of an interprofessional team, you will provide client-centered psychosocial supports to clients who live with chronic pain.

Your role will include participating in assessment, and treatment planning, as well as assisting clients with access to basic necessities, provide access to options for income support and education and training supports.

You will assist clients in accessing and maintaining housing, build and maintain relationships with landlords, and/or appropriate housing providers and motivate clients to seek further treatment and remain abreast of appropriate resources.

You will liaise with other services at CAMH and community agencies to coordinate care for clients including linking clients to community supports, liaising with their community providers, and be a strong advocate to help clients access social determinants of health.


IPARC works within a harm reduction framework:
your role will include being responsible for facilitating access to harm reduction supplies. Other related duties as assigned. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 100 Stokes Street.


Qualifications

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Please Note:
This full-time, contract (until March 31, 2024) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.


Salary Range:
$ $34.64 per hour
