- Software applicationdevelopment, from design to implementation, of console and Windows formsapplications with an emphasis in C and C# using the Visual Studio developmentenvironment, and Python applications using the PyCharm development environment.
- Familiarity with sourcecontrol technologies Git, GitHub, and SVN is a definite asset.
- Full-stack webapplication development using the Visual Studio Code and SQL Server ManagementStudio development environments. Specific current technologies include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, andAJAX on the client side, PHP / ASP.NET on the server side, and MySQL / SQLServer for databases.
- Familiarity withMongoDB; ; Angular, React, Spring frameworks; and a definiteasset for planned curriculum.
- Electricity andelectronics, from circuit design to implementation, with significant exposureto basic passive and active DC/AC circuits, digital circuits, Altera FPGAs,embedded system design, construction, and programming using C, NationalInstruments DAQ with LabView, Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLCs, and variousassociated communication protocols.
- Expertise withon-premises server virtualization, multi-site directory services, M365,endpoint management, python scripting, basic networking including switching androuting, and proficient in troubleshooting.
- Provide direct classroom/labinstruction while utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximizestudent motivation and learning in a skill-building environment.
- Assist in designing,developing, selecting and revising course curriculum and materials on acontinuous basis, using the Institute prescribed process.
- Evaluate the learningprocess: Ensure learning is evaluated ina reliable and timely manner, providing appropriate and timely feedback tostudents; Submit marks/records promptly.
- Provide coaching or referralfor students who are experiencing difficulties in order to maximize retentionand student success.
- Use the institute-approvedprocess to regularly solicit feedback on instruction from students and use theresults to improve instructional delivery.
- In accordance with adesignated framework, utilize appropriate educational technology forcommunications, presentations, and program promotion.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adegree (preferred) or diploma in Computer Engineering or related discipline isrequired.
- Industry experience within atleast one of the target skill sets listed above.
- Previous curriculum development andcourse delivery is a definite asset.
- Additionalfamiliarity with Linux, PC / server hardware, Fusion 360 for 3D printing, basicnetworking, and virtualization would be an asset.

NAIT'sComputer Engineering Technology program is a 2-year diploma program deliveredover 4 semesters of 15 weeks each. Students will be trained in both computer hardware and software,including concepts related to computer architecture fundamentals, industrialelectronics and embedded controllers using analog and digital integration.Students will become fluent in the programming of micro-controllers and PLCs,advanced programming languages such as C#, Windows application development,database concepts and dynamic web development.
