Cantiro is currently looking for a
Site Assistant / Lead Hand.
Working under the supervision of the Superintendent, the
Site Assistant supports completing our customer homes on time, on budget and without any deficiencies.
The
Site Assistant is responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare homes for possession dates
- Maintain site cleanliness, including sweeps at predetermined construction stages
- Complete minor finishing work
- Install garage stairs/landings, tub decks, locks and signage
- Basic home adjustments including doors, cabinets, etc
- Move building material around and out of job site
- Basic drywall and taping
- Install basement windows
- Complete FLRA's and report any safety issues immediately
- Assist superintendent with any other required tasks
- Seasonal maintenance, e.g. snow removal when required
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years' experience in residential construction/renovation
- General knowledge of Alberta Building Code
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Clean driver's abstract
Other Skills/Requirements
- Reliable vehicle is required (
vehicle allowance provided) - Personal hand tools that include basic cordless tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Selfmotivated, teamplayer, organized and proactive
- Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to effectively problem solve
- Work with mínimal supervision
