Reporting to the Manager of Workforce Management, this position is responsible for assisting in the employment and records management of trades personnel and field labor while carrying out document management with the highest degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

This position is based out of Valard's Edmonton office. However, some travel may be required.


Requirements:


  • Consult with hiring managers and supervisors to determine specific job requirements, staffing needs and key information before recruiting.
  • Create and manage spreadsheets and resume folders to track applicants in an organized delivery by position and location for field hiring managers.
  • Advertise, source, screen and shortlist resumes and applicants for all field positions.
  • Prepare offers of employment.
  • Assist new hires with onboarding process to ensure it's completion is done efficiently.
  • Support company recruitment events and job fairs.
  • Manage crew lists for Substation Group.
  • Administrate field movement including transferring, rehiring, and hiring of new employees.
  • Collection and entry of information into management systems (M Files, HRIS, JD Edwards).
  • Manage employee status changes, mass spring & Christmas layoffs.
  • Provide full administrative support as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and information management systems (M Files, mVolts, HRIS, JD Edwards).
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of field operations, the trades, and the powerline construction industry.
  • Able to communicate effectively with field staff and management.
  • Must be a positive team player able to work closely and collaboratively in a small team.
  • Selfmotivated with sound decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrates sound work ethics, cultural awareness, honesty, and confidentiality with regards to private and sensitive information.

The Recruitment Coordinator must maintain strict confidentiality in performing his or her duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum five years of experience in a field recruitment role
  • Experience working with trades, apprenticeship and/or the powerline industry is an asset
  • Post-Secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent experience is considered an asset
