Responsibilities:

We are seeking an exceptionally qualified technician to supervise the department.

In addition to the duties of a MCR technical Director, the working supervisor will include:

  • Lead technician and liaison for special projects or implementation of new technologies
  • To act as delegated backfill for manager (vacation backfill)
  • Lead in formulating and implementing new procedures and training initiatives
  • Monitor live control room staffing requirements and ensure suitable coverage is provided
  • Assist the manager to oversee the scheduling and implementation of NHL blackouts
  • Primary technical contact for TSN MCR rooms

Preferred Qualifications:


  • In addition to the duties of a MCR technical Director, the working supervisor position will include:
  • Thorough knowledge of NHL blackout processes and procedures
  • Active participant in programming scrums and biweekly discussions with programming group
  • Administrative knowledge of associated hardware used in the Master Control room including automation systems, switchers, video servers and logo generators
  • Successful applicants will be a team leader who possesses problemsolving skills
  • Position requires demonstrated computer literacy
  • Formal postsecondary education in broadcasting or a related field is required
