Project Lead Technician

The Project Lead Technician position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the project.

The position is responsible for forecasting labor needs, tracking daily progress and will provide and track the dependencies of the project and communicate up to management.

This individual will also be responsible for working closely with the General Contractor of the project.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review project requirements and installation plan with the project team
  • Review, modify and red line all job documentation for assigned projects related to floor plans, equipment locations, reflected ceiling plans, conduit callouts, elevations, and cable pull schedules
  • Perform project installation or service work in a professional manner and in accordance with company established best practices
  • Review materials options and verify count accuracy
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Project Superintendent regarding schedule, open items, project status, and milestones
  • Review and implement daytoday schedules with Technicians and Project Superintendent
  • Forecast materials with manpower needs on each project
  • Provide quality control for all technicians working on your projects
  • Responsible for supervision of your team and completion of every project assigned within estimated hours
  • Evaluate and monitor every project to ensure profitability for the company
  • Review daily/weekly Clock In/Out times for accuracy
  • Document all system information
  • Adhere to all applicable safety rules and regulations

Required Qualifications

  • Industry education and minimum 3 years of work experience required
  • Valid driver license and clean driving record

Demonstrated Professional Competencies

  • Knowledge of construction site etiquette and safety regulations
  • Experience with trade specific Termination Techniques
  • Proficient in cable preparation and termination per industry standards
  • Ability to commission trade specific systems
  • Ability to perform system acceptance tests
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
