Reporting to the Controller, the Director Accounting Operations & Benefit Payments leads and directs the implementation of all accounts payable functions (administrative and claim-related), and payroll, protecting the integrity of the system by ensuring accurate and timely payments aligned with accounting standards and best practice.

Management of Accounting Services, Benefit Payment Services, and Payroll - ensuring that these services are successfully managed in accordance with directives, policies, industry accounting standards and statutory requirements.

• People Leadership - To provide strong people leadership that drives engagement of the team to enable their performance, development, and overall employee experience. Financial management - Develop and manage the department budget and spending related to resources, training, travel, etc. Emotional Intelligence / Self-awareness
• Planning and Organizing

A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

• An understanding of how federal and provincial legislation affect the compensation system such as the Income Tax Act, Canada Pension Plan, Privacy legislation etc.

Written and spoken competency in English is required.

Your primary workspace will be from your in-home office, with the occasional expectation of in person meetings, for that reason, working from outside the province or country is not permissible.
