Technician.
The IT Media Support and Help Desk Technician, provides support to the IT Department and AV events,
provides Help Desk support by responding to technical support requests from faculty and staff and
assists with other tech needs of the school.
Preferred experience with audio visual equipment, Google Administration, Help Desk ticketing systems,
computer workstations, chromebooks, on-premise and cloud network, printers and other devices;, and
VOIP systems.

JOB TITLE:
IT Media Support and Help Desk Technician

JOB SUMMARY:
The Media Support & Help Desk Technician is to provide AV support for events, assist with
responding to Tech Ticket requests from faculty and staff, and assist with other tech needs of the school.
Some flexibility for evening events will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audio / Visual
- Support projection, lighting and sound for weekly/monthly events within the organization,
- Organize and prepare provided presentations for events.
- Contribute to the organization's AV process.
- Work with the IT Manager to ensure the AV processes are followed by staff.
- Perform setup and cleanup of equipment before and after events.
- Keep inventory of equipment and prepare plans for replacement equipment.
- Provide input into future AV projects.
- Work with AV personnel adjacent to the organization (Grant Memorial) to ensure smooth
- operation.
- Diagnose nonoperational AV equipment and perform repairs.
- Help Desk
- Provide ongoing, in person and remote support to end users related to IT technical support;
- Track, enter and coordinate calls and requests in the Help Desk ticketing system;
- Install, maintain, provide training and enduser technical support/troubleshooting of hardware
- Computer workstations, Chromebooks, printers, projectors, speakers and other
- devices;
- User account update and changes for endusers;
- Telecommunication systems including VOIP telephone systems, etc.
- Contributing to documentation related to technical items in the environment.
- Investigation of IT infrastructure issues related to networking and servers.
Academic/Educational Requirements:
- Completion of postsecondary education.
- Training and/or experience in a computerized environmentis preferred.
- IT Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA are preferred
Required Skills/Experience:
- Ability to work effectively as a team member;
- Familiarity and confidence with technical equipment;
- Ability to work independently and highly self initiating;
- Understanding of an educational environment related to priorities and scheduling.
- Ability to interact effectively and positively with administration, staff, students and the public
- and outside agencies;

- Ability to meet multiple demands and deadlines with many interruptions;
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy and follow up;
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good understanding of the role of and maintaining confidentiality and privacy issues;
- Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy;
- Ability to effectively adapt to changing situations or increased responsibilities within the
