Job Description:


RESPONSIBLITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as knowledge SME on Inspection topics. Help accumulate inspection / MRB knowledge through drafting DWIs and procedures, and train new inspectors on how to conduct quality inspection and basic ZE related functions.
  • Reporting of Inspections metrics to monitor performance.
  • Covering inspection needs for the various production areas.
  • Help Quality Team Lead to prioritize day to day activities in inspection areas and ensure all areas are covered from resource needs.
  • Support Quality Team Lead in promoting and achieving targets for a specified area: Quality, Implemented Ideas, 5S and Continuous Improvement. Lead 5S initiatives for inspection areas
  • Resolve inspection and MRB related inquiries.
  • Support the calibration program by working on required calibration, helping organize required internal and external calibrations.
  • Work in conjunction with Team Lead to ensure daily inspection / MRB requirements and transactional expectations are met to satisfy customer demands, and monthly MRB targets are met.
  • Provide support to maintain and coordinate material flow requirements and escalate risks.
  • Support organizational Lean, Continuous Improvement and Rockwell Production System activities.
  • Identify problems and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support Team Lead in drilling to root cause and implementing corrective action activities to ensure successful closure to and meeting of daily expectations.
  • Act as a trouble shooter and liaison with other departments to ensure MRB and inspection activities are moving as intended.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to assume other inspector roles as required.
  • When available, performs inspection of sheet metal parts, components from suppliers, assemblies or subassemblies prior, during or after the manufacturing process.
  • When requested, develops programs for coordinated measuring machine (CMM) and performs production part approval processes (PPAPs) for suppliers.
  • Accurately report task and times in Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) related to work orders and Critical to Quality (CTQ's).
  • Participate in Behavioral Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
  • Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contributes by making recommendations for applicable product or process improvements for manufacturability of the produced parts and products.
  • Performs work in accordance with job specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
  • Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Rockwell Automation values, ethics, policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
  • Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
  • All other duties as required and assigned by supervision

SKILLS:

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Reading and understanding written instructions, i.e., Cambridge Specific Procedures (CSPs) and Documented Work Instructions (DWIs)
  • Utilizing a computer to view, log, and/or find appropriate jobrelated information, i.e., SAP, FTPC
  • Selfdirected in a team environment
  • Safe use of manual tools and, power tools and machinery
  • Demonstrate proficiency of assigned tasks, duties, and responsibilities required to achieve customer satisfaction, including but not limited to SAP, Factory Talk and Kronos.
  • Engage in and anticipate the activities necessary to meet the changing needs of the business, with the highest possible level of efficiency.
  • Produces results in a product and or service that conforms to valid specifications, is free of defects, strives to reduce variation of the process and adds value for our customers.
  • Demonstrates understanding and supports company values, policies, and standards of business.

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:

  • Level 4: 5 Years Related Experience, High School Education/GED
  • Experience of coordination and communication

PREREQUISITE:

  • Must have 5 years of Rockwell experience.
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
