JOB SUMMARY:


The Machine Operator, Blow Mold, is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the production equipment to produce the finished product and ensuring that the desired level of quality is achieved for on-time delivery.


REPORTS TO:
Blow Team Lead and Blow Operations Manager


SHIFT:
12 Hour Continental Shifts (36/48 Hour split with 2 weeks days and 2 weeks nights rotation)


DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate Blow Mold Machines to ensure efficient production of quality bottles.
  • Ability to perform all duties of a Packing Operator:
  • Performs inline quality checks to verify the packing of defect-free products.
  • Supports Blow Mold setup team with conversions and preventative maintenance as required.
  • Assists with minor troubleshooting and resolution of process problems.
  • Documents daily production reports and completes all necessary paperwork that pertains to this position.
  • Ensures that all equipment and supplies are in working order and reports issues of maintenance to the Team Lead.
  • Answers operating alarms and restarts machines.
  • Changes and/or sets up strappers.
  • Performs adequate management of production materials.
  • Assists in training Blow Mold employees.
  • Active participation on all Health and Safety programs.
  • Must adhere to the Company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the plant is maintained at a high standard of housekeeping.
  • Takes an interdependent approach to health and safety where it is accepted and practiced that we all have a shared responsibility to our own, and our colleague's health, safety, and wellbeing. Must comply with the ZERO accident workplace initiative.
  • Performs other duties related to job as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


  • Familiarity and comfortability with working in a fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Troubleshooting/ problem solving; determine root cause of operating errors; next step action.
  • Possesses a high awareness for all things Health and Safety related and must be able to speak confidently about Health and Safety concerns.
  • Attention to detail and adequate mathematical skills without the use of a calculator or other tools.
  • Time management skills, organized, adaptable, responsible, dependable, and respectful
  • Works well and respectfully independently and/or in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work a rotating schedule.

EDUCATION:


  • Highschool GED or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:


  • Repetitive lifting, bending, and stepping; carrying up to 1525 pounds; responsive reflexes.
  • Possesses the ability to stand for 12 hours, including frequent walking, climbing, bending, and twisting at the waist and knees, squatting/kneeling and reaching above head level.
  • Some exposure to dust/airborne particles; heights; noise; mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.
  • Practice and comply with Company safety policies and procedures; attend safety meetings as required.

From $18.50 per hour
