The Data Manager works amongst a team of professionals and plays a key role in the overall success and future growth of our business.

You will be primarily accountable for researching, designing, implementing, and administering database solutions in a welcoming environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a database from scratch, combining data from a variety of sources
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data
  • Streamline data flows from sources such as QuickBooks Online and COVA into the database
  • Maintain an array of Microsoft Azure SQL databases across critical production and nonproduction environments
  • Proactively develop, implement, and improve procedures to increase the overall effectiveness and integrity of our databases and systems
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of existing processes to enhance data integrity and accuracy
  • Proactively perform database monitoring, optimization, performance tuning, and database maintenance and testing as well as Implements largescale data migrations
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations
  • Create data products for Business Analysts in various teams to improve productivity
  • Implement systems to track data quality and consistency
  • Applies data modeling, data design and implementation to support business requirements and drive the organization forward
  • Respond to adhoc data requests within the organization in a timely manner
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support
  • Offer support by responding to data problems in a timely manner
  • Support the creation, review, and maintenance of framework, policy, and procedure documentation relating to Data Quality
  • Develop and implement a Data Governance process
  • Participate in project teams and collaborate as a team to deliver business outcomes
  • Proactively monitor and respond to database Alerts
  • Research technical problems, analyze business requirements, evaluate alternative design approaches and technical design processes to meet business requirements
  • Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models for corporate database solutions

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in a Technology or business environment
  • 5+ years of practical experience within a MS SQL DBA capacity, with strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, implementation, and optimization in large and complex environments
  • Intermediate competency in Azure Cloud, database development and modelling
  • Extensive experience with MS SQL Server (tables, triggers, unions, joins, complex queries, and stored procedures)
  • Experience in managing clustered SQL environments utilizing mirroring, availability groups, and log shipping
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server
  • Exposure to Azure Cloud and hands on experience with Database Cloud Migrations
  • Good understanding of NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB and Cosmos DB preferably) and some experience with relational DBMS nice to haveVB.Net and the ability to create adhoc solutions for data issues such as building macros to create temporary dataflows while a permanent flow is developed
  • Competency in Microsoft Power BI considered a great asset
  • Expert in data warehouse concepts
  • Strong experience working in teams to perform ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) of data
  • Selfmotivated, results driven with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Welldeveloped communication, collaboration, interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships
