The Community-University Partnership for the Study of Children, Youth, Families and Communities - (CUP) is a unique collaboration among the University of Alberta, community agencies, and organizations in and around Edmonton and across Alberta.

We are committed to improving the development of children, youth, families, and communities by creating or mobilizing evidence-informed knowledge that impacts programs, practices, and policies.

CUP has a 20-year history of collaborative community-based research experience.

CUP is led by a steering committee comprised of over 25 leaders from municipal and provincial government, not-for-profit agencies, school boards, and foundations.

**Position

Under the supervision and guidance of the Associate Director, the Research Coordinator is responsible for contributing to research activities and supporting all facets of research projects including grant preparation, data collection, data management, data analysis, and knowledge dissemination.

The Research Coordinator will provide community-engaged and qualitative research support for several ongoing projects related to poverty and public policy.

**Duties

  • Monitors work plan activities, and deliverables, in collaboration with PI to ensure project deliverables are met in a timely, costefficient manner. Assesses and communicates project resource requirements and proactively anticipates project issues and develop strategies for resolution.
  • Develops data collection tools and assists the project team with data collection. Conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate software and techniques (e.g., SPSS, NVivo).
  • Collaborates with team member and organizes and participates in team meetings (58 people), documents, and reports on progress.
  • Plan and conduct environmental scans and literature reviews as related to ongoing and new projects.
  • Assist with the coordination of all necessary project planning and management to ensure timelines / deliverables are met. Maintain a schedule of milestones and deadlines for all grants, reports, articles, etc.
  • Contribute to writing research papers, reports, presentations, and publications, and presenting results to partners, funders, and/or at conferences.
  • Travel for monthly meetings related to research activities within and outside of Edmonton (Drayton Valley).
  • Translates technical and/or analytical results into useful information for community partners.
  • Prepares knowledge mobilization products, including for academic (presentations, papers, abstracts) and community (reports, briefs, summaries, presentations) audiences.
  • Assists with communications to internal and external stakeholders; may liaise between community members and project team for conducting research.
  • Supports opportunities for collaboration with community members in conducting research, liaising between the project team and the community.
  • Participates in scholarly activities such as: preparation of publications and presentations at national and provincial scientific conferences, and at other academic and community settings.
**Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to social policy (e.g., social science, education, humanities).
  • Minimum of 2 years conducting res
