As a member of a multidisciplinary team focused on smooth and efficient care of the surgical patient
Primary responsibilities include:
Cleaning and disinfecting of equipment and theatres. Ordering and restocking of supplies in accordance with Hospital policies and unit standards. Responsible for picking cases for the OR (elective and emergency). Is able to prioritize and problem solve. Demonstrates initiative and judgment in performing duties. Displays positive staff relations in a courteous manner with all hospital personnel. Works either independently or as an effective team member. Maintains confidentiality relative to patients and families. Incumbent will also participate in quality monitoring activities.
Description:
As a Service Worker II, you will be responsible for readying supplies, and cleaning/disinfecting instruments and specialty equipment for immediate use/reuse by healthcare staff.
In addition, you will ensure that patient care areas and other assigned areas are accurately stocked and that specialty equipment required by the healthcare staff is available.

Required Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience in the care and maintenance of sophisticated medical equipment along with knowledge of infection control issues is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must possess an excellent command of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent Service Attendant experience on a patient care unit is an asset. Computer skills required and medical terminology or a good understanding of medical terms preferred.
