Job Summary:

Lawson Health Research Institute (Lawson) is the research institute of London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care London.

The Section of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology requires a Research Assistant, with an interest in working in clinical research aimed at improving clinical outcomes and quality of life, to join their clinical research team.

Responsibilities will include clinical trial administrative start up duties; adherence to research protocols and ensuring studies are conducted accordingly; education and promotion of study to stakeholders; study enrolments and consent and data collection and entry

Rate of Pay:
To commensurate with experience

Hours of Work:37.5 hours per week

Duration:
One-year contract with possibility of renewal

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Science, Health Sciences or related field
Minimum of one year of clinical research experience
Experience with software such as Microsoft Access and Excel
Demonstrated organizational and analytical skill with strong attention to detail
Proven flexibility with a high level of initiative and selfdirection
Ability to work well independently and as a member of the multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, comfort with communicating with patients and families
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
Provide proof of Health Canadaapproved COVID19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health's current definition of being fully vaccinated
