Pacific Coastal Airlines is headquartered at the South Terminal building at Vancouver International Airport.

We fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations, and beautiful communities in the province of British Columbia and Southern Alberta.


Reporting to the Director, Customer Service, the Manager, Network Ground Operations is responsible for strategic leadership and operational control of the company's ramp, cargo and cabin grooming operations at all bases.

This individual will oversee all contracted ground service providers in both the Pacific Coastal and WestJet Link networks and establish & maintain a positive working relationship with each.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure all ground and cargo operations are conducted in accordance with all safety, operations and customer service standards as prescribed by Pacific Coastal Airlines
  • Provide leadership, ensure training compliance, SOP adherence and set performance management objectives for ramp and cargo team operations in support of corporate values and annual objectives
  • Ensure all ramp and cargo operations are conducted in a structured, organized, efficient, and economical fashion, without sacrificing public safety, or the quality standards as prescribed by Pacific Coastal Airlines
  • Establish and uphold safety, health and operational standards and to ensure that all practices meet or exceed regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Oversee all base training, currency checks and daily communication support to all ramp and cargo personnel according to prescribed training standards
  • Evaluate & approve Ground Handler training, currency checks to ensure full compliance with the Ground Operations Manual, including Deicing / Anti-Icing programs
  • Monitor and audit all areas of ramp, cargo and cabin grooming operations in order to ensure compliance with all published standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop appropriate corrective action plans that resolve operational audit findings with the goal to improve ramp and cargo's overall safety, increase operational effectiveness, reduce operational costs and increase profitability
  • Maintain relationships with Transport Canada regarding Air Cargo Security (A.C.S.) Regulations, ensuring that all secure bases are aware of any changes and are current with searching qualifications
  • Support Customer Service leadership team with respect to network ground operations including participation in regular meetings as requested
  • Employ industry best practices in order to maximize safety and to uphold and advance the Company's competitive position with respect to airport operations and community relations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:


  • High School Graduation or equivalent
  • Postsecondary education in business, logistics, or airport operations or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer service, ramp or cargo environment preferably in the aviation industry
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Training and experience in deicing operations
  • Must be able to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit and a Forklift Operators Permit
  • Understands applicable regulations and legislation (such as: CARS, ACSR) and how the regulatory bodies operate and interrelate
  • Familiar with best practices in the industry
  • Sound knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint
