The Opportunity

Ancora Waterfront Dining & Patio's cuisine manifesto is hinged on sustainable seafood, while sourcing local and international ingredients, and draws inspiration from its Pacific Northwest surroundings. Understanding the city's dining evolution has inspired Ancora to create a menu that accommodates all of its diners' culinary desires, combining flavours and techniques which embrace several diverse cultures in a modern, yet approachable setting.


What You'll Do

  • Provide exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
  • Lead, manage, supervise and motivate a large kitchen.
  • Monitor and control food costs and labour costs.
  • Conduct inventory counts and reports.
  • Create and write recipes.
  • Assist in planning and preparing menus.
  • Instruct chefs and cooks in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
  • Control food production to achieve maximum profitability.
  • Prepare and cook meals.
  • Monitor, control, and enforce cleaning of all kitchen areas.
  • Maintain communications and cooperation between back and front of house.

What You Have

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position.
  • Indepth knowledge of food principles and best practices.
  • Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts customers.
  • Ability to thrive in a highpressure environment.
  • Qualification from culinary school or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing inventories and stocktaking.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Open availability, including during business hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
