Our emergency department serves adults 16+ years in need of emergency psychiatric assessment and treatment with mental health and substance abuse issues.

The department offers assessment, extended observation and treatment and works collaboratively with other hospital emergency and community mental health services to achieve patient-centred care.


Position Description

The Emergency Department is currently seeking a full-time, contract (1 year) Social Worker 1 for the Emergency Crisis Service (Emergency and Emergency Observation Unit).

As a member of an interprofessional team, your primary work will be in the role of RAI-MH Coordinator and accountable for completion of the RAI-MH.

RAI-MH is a standardized data collection system for mental health, which is intended to identify key clinical issues related to patient care planning, quality improvement and outcome measurement, all which are linked to resource utilization and funding.

You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic inter-disciplinary team and will be involved with a diverse array of clinical presentation.

The role will also support liaising with other services in the CAMH clinical Programs, within CAMH and community agencies to coordinate care for clients.

You will have sound knowledge of, crisis intervention, recovery based practice, severe and persistent mental illness and substance use issues.

You will be able to work with clients from diverse populations. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Manager of the Emergency Crisis Service, this position will be Monday - Friday, 8 hour days. This position is currently located at 1051 Queen Street West.


Qualifications

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Please Note:
This full-time, contract (1 year) position is part of the OPSEU bargaining unit.


Salary Range:
$ $41.77 per hour
