What you'll do:
- Primarily Ontario based Auto BI, CGL slip and fall claims
- Support other levels in GCS Casualty when necessary by handling Lessor Contingent, Bill 18 rental matters, incident only claims nationally as required.
- Overflow for other regions and US claims only if Grade 7's unavailable and if proper licencing in place.
- No restriction on pedestrian/ cyclist handling
- Possibility of handling some uncomplicated litigation matters to allow for growth in this space.
- Support GCS Value Proposition every day and with every interaction by providing excellent customer and stakeholder communication on claim matters
- Provide superior customer service to our clients and stakeholders
- High level of comfort dealing directly with key clients and broker on all claim related issues and other assistance as required
- Interpret and confirm insurance coverage using background knowledge of relevant case law combined with a thorough understanding of policy wordings
- Ensure file reserves are set on a timely and accurate basis, in line with company protocols
- Maintain control over expenses through proactive handling techniques
- Review and analyse Third Party Adjuster other external reports to ensure proper disposition of claims with view to manage costs and provide exceptional customer service;
- Provide instructions to vendors and TPA's to adjust claims as required;
- Ensure vendors and TPA's adhere to company policies and procedures;
- Clearly document and summarize file activity
- Understand and adhere to Aviva's claim procedures and guidelines
- Ability to communicate and work well with other departments within Aviva and a keenness to learn.
What you'll bring:
- CIP or FCIP Industry designation preferred
- University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent Casualty technical work experience 3 + years previous claims experience; 2 + years of Commercial Claims; with a strong knowledge of Casualty Auto/GL and PD liability claims.
- Client interaction experience
- Technical competence in Commercial insurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, ClaimCenter
- Sound decision making and problem solving skills
