This position is a Temporary Full Time Contract Postion to April 30, 2024.
CRIM & IRC Checks (with 6 months) MUST be provided prior to interview. ONLY Applicants with these competed checks will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Theprevention program will determine the eligibility for each referral that we receive for the 1-time Rental/Arrears or to determine what supports are best suited for the participant.
- Providing shortterm problemsolving identifying and assessing supports
- Knowledge of shortterm or longterm shelter/Housing options
- Knowledgeable of Community supports and resources.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Team Leader
- All staff are to be cross trained in Nikihk Housing 1st positions for the purpose of cover off as needed and requested by the Team Leader
DELIVERABLES AND REPORTS
The prevention program staff will provide time sheets by the last day of each month to the Team Leader.
The prevention program staff shall provide a weekly schedule identifying areas of service and mapping to the Project Team Leader or his/her designate on a weekly basis.
To include but not limited to:
The prevention program staff is to be responsible for all administration of within the scope of services.
To include but not limited to:
- Reporting parking for reimbursement
- All client documents are filed are organized.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2year Diploma or equivalent or 2 years to less than 3 years of experience of delivery
- Must have the ability to empathize with those experiencing significant barriers in their lives and enthusiasm for being part of the solution to end homelessness in Edmonton.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of poverty related issues, trends, and services particularly within, but not limited to the urban indigenous population is essential
- Must understand the impact the loss of culture identity and intergeneration residential school syndrome has had on Aboriginal people.
- Knowledge of motivational interviewing skills.
- Experience of networking with a range of partners and organizations
- Partnership responsibilities including but not limited to: intake, partnership meetings, case conferencing, training and committees.
- Criminal record and Child and Youth Information Systems check are required.
- Able to show a demonstrated commitment to Bent Arrow's mission and values, policies, and guidelines
SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS
- At the discretion of the Project Team Leader, or his/her designate, the prevention program staff may be required to attend orientation and other appropriate courses/training as designated by the Agency or program policies.
- Must have own vehicle and be willing to transport clients.
- Encampment Coordinator's must have a valid driver's license and provide a copy of their driver's license and agree to having a driver's abstract search.
- Must have 2milliondollar liability insurance coverage and provide a copy for employee files.
CRIM and CYIM must be provided upon hire and must be current (within a 6-Months).
