Included in this number are over 100 service technicians providing nationwide service, effectively making Hobart Canada the industry's largest service organization.


Reporting to the Manager, National Dispatch & Invoicing, the Dispatcher will be responsible for Coordinating the service calls for Technicians.


Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, consistently meet deadlines and possess strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the geographical area dispatching for
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Key responsibilities include:


  • Answer all incoming telephone service requests and record all pertinent information
  • Dispatch calls using the information gathered to supply information needed by technician
  • Determine priorities to be assigned to service calls
  • Determine which technician is the closest and most experienced for the job
  • Follow up with technicians with regards to the status of their jobs for timely completion
  • Confirm if parts have been received so that the job can be scheduled
  • Confirm special instructions for job such as overtime, twoman job or specialty tool(s) required
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding their invoices, technician's arrival etc.
  • Prepare daily and weekly summary for technicians' timesheets
  • Record approved technician vacations on timesheets (maintain tech plan)
  • Provide assistance with clerical duties as required
  • Work with all departments to respond to customer requests
  • Work as a team with the Regional Manager and the technicians assigned to your dispatch area
  • Additional duties as required
  • Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures

Requirements:


  • College diploma/ degree or equivalent experience required
  • 24 years experience with dispatching
