JOB SUMMARY:


A Clinical Research Coordinator I position is available at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre / University Health Network in Toronto, Canada.

This role will encompass a variety of cancer genetics and genomics research studies in hereditary cancer early detection. Reporting to Dr.

Raymond Kim, Medical Geneticist and Medical Director - Cancer Early Detection, the Clinical Research Coordinator I collaborates with the Manager, Principal Investigator and research health care team to assume responsibility for the overall coordination and management of a variety of hereditary cancer syndrome projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES Include:

  • Identification of patients fulfilling hereditary genetic testing criteria and assist in organizing clinical genetic testing for their patients
  • Enrollment of patients into tumour profiling studies
  • Coordinating liquid biopsy studies for patients with hereditary cancer syndromes
  • Planning, implementing and coordinating all aspects of data collection, source documentation and data entry per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines
  • Assisting with implementation of universal germline genetic testing for the breast site
  • Collaborating with team members on tasks related to participant recruitment, data generation and updating
  • Coordinating with the Project Manager to execute administrative tasks, such as collection of regulatory documents, ethics submissions and general paperwork

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a health or sciencerelated field
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical and/or professional experience with 1year of clinical research experience, preferred
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional an asset
  • Phlebotomy certification an asset
  • Knowledge and interest in hereditary cancer genetics, genetic testing and genomic technologies, required
  • Experience with database maintenance and electronic patient record systems
  • Knowledge of clinical research principles, research regulations and IATA shipping regulations an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, set priorities and work independently
  • Confident in working with a variety of stakeholders and people from different disciplines
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office software, Word, Excel and Outlook
