Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the drafting wills, power of attorney and representation agreements;
  • Drafting family, alter ego and joint partner trust documentation and any associated ancillary documents;
  • Collaborate closely with the Wills & Estate team to ensure efficient processes and ongoing precedent system development;
  • Responsible for maintaining an updated BF system and demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Liaise internally with lawyers and staff on various matters
  • Assure efficient and effective use of estate planning software;
  • Review draft estate planning documents for accuracy;
  • Perform other related duties as required.

About You

  • Minimum 2 year's experience in Wills and Estates
  • A certificate/diploma from an accredited Paralegal program is an asset. Equivalent work experience is also considered.
  • Ability to independently draft wills, powers of attorney, representation agreements, family and alter ego and joint partner trusts.
  • Attention to detail and professional communication skills are a must
  • Excellent typing, proofreading and inter personal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with FileSite and Acumin is an asset
  • Able to take initiative and use good judgement
  • Able to communicate professionally with clients, lawyers, and staff
