Purpose:
The Quality & Safety Generalist has primary responsibilities in the Safety Management Systems (Workplace, Project, and Product) and Performance Evaluation & Improvement, and secondary responsibilities in the Quality Management System (ISO 9001), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), Supplier Quality, and Quality Control.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Workplace Safety Administrator
- Overall Workplace Safety System (WorkSafeBC, ISO 45001, or similar)
- Lead the JOSH (Joint Occupational Safety & Health) Committee
- Liaison with WorkSafeBC and other agencies regarding safety
- Ongoing development of Safety Manual, Safe Work Practices, and Safe Job Procedures
- Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Project Safety Administrator
- Travel, Site, and Project Safety
- Ongoing development of procedures, practices, and work instructions related to Project Safety
- Product Safety Administrator
- Technical Safety Committee (Backup) Facilitator
- Ongoing development of procedures, practices, and work instructions related to Product Safety
- PEI (Performance Evaluation & Improvement) Administrator
- NCR (Non-Conformance Reporting) Database Administrator
- NCR System Development (Current-Generation & Next-Generation)
- NCR Procedures & Work Instructions (Author, Analyst, Owner, Supplier, etc)
- Incident Response Process Analyst
- Supplemental Bulletin Process Analyst
- G8D (Global Eight Discipline) Process Analyst
- Gemba Walk Process Facilitator
- Internal Auditor and Analyst
- Fulfill Auditor and Analyst duties such as reporting, investigations, audits, and other duties related to the above
Other Areas:
- Quality (ISO 9001): Quality Management / Assurance, Standards Conformity, Auditing
- Environment (ISO 14001): Environmental Aspects & Impacts, Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Supplier Quality: Supplier Selection, Development, Qualification, Management, Feedback, & Audits
- Quality Control: Procedure(s), Work Instruction(s), Tooling, Inspection, etc
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Management, Business, Safety, or a related area, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Occupational Certification Any one or more of the following certifications are considered an asset for this role:
- ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ISO 19011 Lead Auditor (or equivalent certification)
- Industry Certification for the area of responsibility (Safety, Quality, Environment, Suppliers, PEI)
- Certification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Commoditybased Certification or Experience: Steel, Fiberglass, Interactive Play, Theming, Water Ride Vehicles, etc
- 5+ years experience in Industry
- Experience in a Technical Leadership or Management role is an asset
- Experience in Auditing and/or Supplier Quality is an asset
- Experience with Performance Evaluation & Improvement (G8D, NCR, Gemba, etc) is an asset
- Experience with Workplace, Product, and Construction Site Safety is an asset
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
