This group currently consists of over 170 professionals located in offices in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and New York.

The Investment Banking Group at NBF has demonstrated considerable momentum over the last few years, experiencing strong growth in deal flow.


Primary Job Responsibilities


As an Investment Banking Associate, you can expect to actively participate in structuring and executing a wide variety of financial transactions led by senior members of the Investment Banking team.

You will gain exposure to the investment banking business and deepen your knowledge of the mining industry.

You will be expected to take a leadership role in:

  • Organizing and developing presentation materials supporting our clients' capital decision-making
  • Assisting in the execution of M&A transactions and equity and fixed income issuances
  • Building complex financial models and valuation analysis
  • Creating and preparing client presentations and market materials
  • Interacting with clients and managing deal processes
  • Assisting in managing and coaching a team of analysts
  • Conducting a variety of industry and company research and analysis
  • Performing various tasks supporting senior team members in their deal execution and client coverage efforts

Qualifications and Experience

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, mining engineering or related field to the sector of activity
  • Minimum of 2 years of investment banking or relevant experience in equity research, corporate finance, M&A, private equity, or corporate development
  • Experience in evaluating corporate transactions and structures
  • Experience creating financial analyses
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Deal/ transaction execution and project management experience
  • Demonstrated problemsolving mindset, collaborative approach and great team spirit
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision
