PRODUCTION OPERATOR:

Our team in
Montreal currently has an opening for a
Production Operator

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Sampling and arranging release of storm water.
  • Moving and offloading railcars.
  • Loading and unloading tankers and ensuring drivers compliance with Brenntag site rules.
  • Maintaining and monitoring tank farm.
  • Following and ensuring compliance with TDG placarding regulations.
  • Sampling tankers for drumoff.
  • Steam clean tankers.
  • To connect and disconnect hoses to tank trucks, communicating with other employees and ensuring samples of the incoming product is taken to the lab for testing.
  • Monitoring storage tank(s) product level.
  • To accurately manufacture blends in blend tank and tankers.
  • Inspect tankers to ensure product can be safely loaded and transported as well as fill out the required documentation
  • Report and assist in rectifying weight discrepancy in inbound shipments.
  • To operate the drum filling equipment ensuring packages are filled to the proper weight, labelled accurately and sealed prior to storage. To check for leaking drums and broken pallets.
  • To efficiently perform product changeovers ensuring proper amount of flush is taken and all hoses, pumps, valves, etc., are clear prior to the start of the new product.
  • To clean up after product changeovers and leaking drums or minor spills ensuring flush pails are poured into the appropriate container.
  • To ensure first drum samples of product being drummed are taken to the lab and the first drum is marked accordingly.
  • To maintain housekeeping standards of workstation, cleaning up absorbent materials and emptying drip trays.
  • To operate the drum filling equipment ensuring packages are filled to the proper weight, labelled accurately and sealed prior to storage.
  • To check for leaking drums and broken pallets.
  • To efficiently perform product changeovers ensuring proper amount of flush is taken and all hoses, pumps, valves, etc., are clear prior to the start of the new product.
  • To connect and disconnect hoses to tank trucks during drumoffs, communicating with other employees and ensuring samples of the incoming product is taken to the lab for testing.
  • To clean up after product changeovers and leaking drums or minor spills ensuring flush pails are poured into the appropriate container.
  • To ensure first drum samples of product being drummed are taken to the lab and the first drum is marked accordingly.
  • To maintain housekeeping standards of workstation, cleaning up absorbent materials and emptying drip trays.
  • To accurately manufacture blends as specified on blend ticket.
  • To maintain sufficient and correct supplies to complete job assignments.
  • To safely and accurately change over leaking drums, ensuring correct package and labels are used.
  • Ensure all safety rules and regulations; both Government and Corporate are followed.
  • To remove full drums, totes etc., from conveyer lines and put into stock without damage.
  • Rotate and warehouse stock when putting away inventory.
  • Perform tote tank inspections and recertifications as required. Assist in training and support of all employees in training.
  • Focus on the immediate task at hand to ensure that job is done safety and correctly
  • Anticipate changes that could effect your safety or others and how to react to them
  • Preplan work and look for potential hazards, missing safeguards and risk reduction opportunities.
  • Acknowledge and describe at risk practices or short cuts to the person who performed them (regardless of department)
  • To be trained and follow requirements of Food Safety under SQF / AIB /or BRC

YOUR PROFILE:


Education and Experience:


  • High School diploma mandatory
  • Chemical processing education would be ideal or substantial experience in a chemical production & bulk processing environment (3 years)
  • Fork lift driving experience (min 2 years)
  • RF Gun experience required
  • Computer literacy
  • Bilingual in French & English with proficiency in communication, reading & writing
