Reporting directly to the Senior Buyer the Assistant Buyer is responsible for the timely manner of order submissions, replenishments of key product groups, and reporting of brand performance with vendor partners.

Success is dependent on understanding business performance through analytics, gathering input from the frontline team and internal customers, collaborating with marketing, group sales & conference departments on specific consumer segments, expanding sales streams with support to internal partners.

The Assistant Buyer will also be responsible for the coordination of the resort uniform program, in partnership with key vendors and resort departments.

WHAT

WILL I BE DOING?

  • Monitors sales and margin performance, and variances against budget and forecast.
  • Assist in purchase order creation, tracking, and adjustments.
  • Analyze vendor order confirmations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist in monthly/seasonal markdown reviews.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate recommendations for repeat orders, consolidations, RTVs and/or markdowns dollars.
  • Contribute towards establishing, maintaining, and building strong relationships with vendors and internal departments to achieve goals.
  • Attend key vendor appointments and trade shows.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

  • 23 years retail buying experience and vendor management responsibilities
  • Proficient with Windows based programs including intermediate level skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be comfortable with understanding mathematical calculations and analyzing/interpreting data. Proven attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • GTA based, preferred.
