IT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

What is a IT Support Technician?

The Fit4Less IT Support Technician's role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks.

This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests.

Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on help at the desktop level.

What will you be doing?

  • Organizes and executes requests for new hardware and repairs
  • Documents all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue
  • Builds rapport and elicits problem details from hosts, club managers, region managers and other Fit4Less team members
  • Records, tracks, and documents the problemsolving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution
  • Applies diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
  • Identifies and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
  • Assists with the development of job aids and frequently asked questions documentation for end users
  • Work effectively as a team to achieve established outcomes
  • Be eager to see a solution through from beginning to end ensuring high quality results
  • Keep current with the latest technologies.
  • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • From time to time, depending on business needs, evening, weekend and/or overtime work may be required

Do you have what it takes?

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 12 years equivalent work experience
  • Certifications in PC hardware support, network troubleshooting is an asset
  • Experience working with Windows 7, 10 operating systems
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities, including incident reporting systems, Internet connectivity testing (ping, traceroute)
  • Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
  • Use control panel, add/remove programs, troubleshooting Windows updates
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapportbuilding, listening, and questioning skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Experience in the Customer Service field an asset
  • Experience with desktop operating systems
  • Experience working in a teamoriented, collaborative environment
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Work from Fit4Less Hub located in London, ON
