As Timbre's Marketing and Communications Manager, you'll play a key role in getting our unique message out to the world. Through transparent, innovative approaches, you will help craft Timbre's messaging and awareness strategies for our games and our studio, amplifying our distinctive voice everywhere Our mission is to change the games industry, and you'll play a central role in helping us achieve that goal. You'll also oversee messaging and branding for our standalone concept art studio - Atomhawk Design Canada.

As a Marketing Manager at Timbre, you will:

  • Work independently and hands-on to scope, prioritize, and execute on projects aimed at strengthening awareness of Timbre and Atomhawk Canada
  • Understand, analyze and advise on the competitive video game landscape, leveraging your expertise on our competition to position us in the market
  • Devise and share eye catching, engaging, humorous social posts that set us apart from the typical video game development studio
  • Manage Timbre's communication plans, and oversee creation and deployment of marketing materials, including brand art, logos, the Timbre web site, advertisements, and any assets that will be shared publicly
  • Through your knowledge and research of gaming industry trends, you'll partner with our Art, Design, Talent Acquisition and Leadership teams to innovate & elevate our marketing approach, articulating our brand evolution at a studio level
  • Partner and communicate with Sumo Group's Marketing and Communications team regularly to align and stay connected on their overall strategy
  • Develop and own Timbre's strategy to ensure a consistent image incorporating and connecting various mediums including events and conferences, social media, community outreach and engagement, and advertising campaigns
  • Understand and advance Timbre's inclusive and playful employer brand to attract diverse aspiring talent
  • Combine your networking skills with our message to spark meaningful partnerships within the industry
  • Cocreate and maintain a yearly marketing budget, incorporating quarterly reviews and forecasts
  • Foster a coaching culture by guiding the team through creative and technical challenges and nurturing a self empowered, inclusive and collaborative atmosphere

What you bring:


  • 5+ years in marketing in video games or an alternative creative field
  • Desire and excitement to kickstart and grow Timbre's Marketing department
  • A keen eye and deep understanding of quality, substance, tone, humility and humor
  • Thoughtful, conscientious and proficient written communication skills
  • A creative and artistic flair that will set Timbre apart in the marketplace
  • Experience with improving and amplifying the voice and message of a developing brand
