The Crime Victim Assistance Program provides financial assistance, information and services to victims of crime, immediate family members and eligible witnesses to assist in their financial and psychological recovery from the effects of a crime.
This position resides within the Crime Victim Assistance Program, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, and reports to the Claims Coordinator Team Lead, CVAP.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience (which could include Volunteer or Practicum Work)***- 1 year experience working with victims of crime and/or vulnerable people;
(vulnerable people to include but not limited to; victims, marginalized party or those that face social injustices related to race, ethnicity, poverty, gender, sexual orientation, age, language, physical or mental health etc.)
- Experience working with justice system personnel (e.g. Crown Counsel, police, probation) and/or social service organizations; and
- Experience collaborating and coordinating services for clients with government and/or other service organizations.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- The completion of post-secondary education (degree, diploma, certificate) in a related field (e.g. Criminology, social work, psychology).

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
