We are currently looking for a HSE Coordinator to join our team


Reporting to the Director, Health and Safety, the HSE Coordinator will assist in overseeing Trotter and Morton Health and Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure all activities follow applicable health and safety regulations and legislation.

This role encompasses a large range of activities from safety orientation of new hires, arranging training and testing and purchasing safety materials, to documenting and tracking incidents and identifying and correcting deficiencies.

The HSE Coordinator provides the Safety department with efficient and professional administrative assistance to the Safety team, and contributes to the ongoing safety of personnel and the safety-oriented culture within the company.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Safety team with administrative duties
  • Assist with new hire safety orientation
  • Filing and data entry of important Safety documentation
  • Track training certificates and metrics
  • Prepare reports or special project data
  • Assist with incident management, accident and near miss investigations and identify root causes
  • Assist with monthly and yearly OH&S statistical reporting
  • Coordinate maintenance and retrieval of necessary safety records as advised by Safety team
  • Assist with the administration of the Corporate Incident Management Program
  • Assist with administration of the Corporate Vehicle Program, including reviewing driver's abstracts and traffic violations
  • Assist with the booking and administration related to Drug & Alcohol tests
  • Participate in monitoring HSE standards and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining COR certification.
  • Maintain records, reports and documents to meet company or regulatory requirements.
  • Support programs to provide to personnel, facility safety and the wellbeing and protection of the environment.
  • Assist with inspections for fire prevention equipment and other safety and first aid supplies.
  • Conduct New Hire Safety Orientations.
  • Chair Safety Committee Meetings monthly. Minutes and agenda
  • Schedule training for employees, maintain employee files and the safety training system.
  • Assist in the developing and review of Safe Work Practices and Job Hazard Assessments.
  • Assist in the upkeep of thirdparty auditing systems.
  • Manage the Sub Contractor safety program documentation.
  • Interface with 3rd party vendors to procure safety supplies.
  • Assist with office administrative tasks daily.
  • Assist in planning, developing, scheduling, and delivering HSE education training programs
  • Perform other duties as required

  • First Aid an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Required Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative role
  • Experience working in an HSE role or in a Health & Safety environment preferred
  • Construction experience is an asset
  • Working towards certificate in HSA
  • Class 5 Drivers License Required.
  • Auditor certification an asset
  • Worked with ISN or Avetta is a strong asset
