Description
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for the accounting and financial functions of the Agency.

Additionally, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for maintain electronic and paper master file of all Agency forms and documents, Procurement, Infrastructure, and IT.

The Finance Coordinator is accountable to the Senior Accountant.


Major Job Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable

  • Create and balance weekly Accounts Receivable invoices with care and precision, utilizing QuickBooks
  • Proactively monitor and collect outstanding Accounts Receivable amounts, analyzing Aging Reports weekly
  • Record and post payments in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Prepare, enter, and deposit all cash/cheques received with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
Accounts Payable

  • Process daily cheque requisitions, obtaining signatures and distributing to appropriate parties in a timely fashion
  • Prepare invoices and petty cash/program funds replenishments with attention to detail
  • Verify authorization of expenditures/purchase orders and accuracy of requests, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Ensure supporting documents are included with requests and uploaded to QuickBooks, maintaining organized records
Financial

  • Record journal entries in QuickBooks daily, maintaining accurate financial records
  • Analyze financial data and create financial reports for management decisionmaking
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitoring
  • Ensure all financial decisions reflect GAAP, promoting financial responsibility and sustainability
  • Respond to audit inquiries promptly and professionally, demonstrating commitment to transparency and accountability.
Administration

  • Manage general filing and recordkeeping, both physical and electronic, with care and organization
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports or as required
  • Prepare and maintain tax records, supporting the financial health of the agency
  • Liaise internally with team members, Programs, and Management, fostering open communication and collaboration
  • Participate in special projects and perform other financial duties, contributing to the agency's success and growth

Continuous Improvements

  • Recommend changes in processes and procedures to increase efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in financial processing.

Qualifications

  • Accounting or finance related degree or diploma from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and financial reporting
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principals
  • QuickBooks, Spendwise, and Payworks experience preferred

$49,920.00 per year
