As the Used Trailer Sales Manager, you will play a key role in the Maxim family.

In this role, you will oversee all used trailer business transactions, from appraisals to sales, ensuring that we meet or exceed customer expectations, sales/profit budgets, and inventory turns within the total inventory budget.


Responsibilities:


  • Communicates with Account Managers' for updates, creates tradein and resale values for Account Managers on physical appraisals, has a pretrade inspection completed by the Service Depts and decides if the unit will be retail/wholesale or will go to an auction.
  • Oversees and approves retail sales, sells wholesale units, and purchases of all used trailers including surplus Leasing and Rental units.
  • Ensures all used trailers are prepped for resale by reviewing trailer appraisal sheet, arranging internal or sublet repairs/service including any safety repairs and following up on work in progress.
  • Promotes sale of used trailers and collects market trend information, attending auctions, maintaining relationships with industry contacts, coordinating advertising, and organizing contest promotions for Accounts Managers. Determines which units to sell where and the most cost/time effective way for transporting.
  • Provides used trailer sales support for all Account Managers selling used trailer by assisting with conditions, locations, sales contract details, making sales calls with Sales Representatives, sourcing specialized trailers and responding to customer complaints.
  • Assists in formulating the annual business plan, budgets, and productivity measures by location/product from information provided by sales force.
  • Occasional travel as needed, primarily to other Maxim Branches

What you need to succeed in this role:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license & passport
  • Minimum 5 years in heavyduty truck/trailer sales for product familiarity
  • Prior management experience (e.g. creating budgets, developing standards, etc.)
  • Business Administration degree or diploma is an asset
  • Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
  • Negotiates well and builds relationships with coworkers and customers
  • Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of people


  • Proficient with computers

  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with interruptions
  • Mechanical aptitude an asset

$70,000.00 per year
