RIMOWA has a unique opportunity for a Quality Assurance Managerto join the CREW at our Cambridge facility.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and monitoring our products, processes and systems to ensure they meet the highest standards.
You are expected to carry out regular inspections of production sites, conduct statistical analyses to identify problems, communicate effectively with production or service personnel to make improvements, and prepare reports for senior management.
You must be analytical and creative, always coming up with new ways to satisfy needs and encourage workers. You also help communicate expectations to employees and provide coaching and corrective action when needed. Quality assurance managers must be excellent communicators with a strong desire to help others.Key Responsibilities and Accountability
- Communicate with Managers, leaders and employees on quality standards & policies; ensure these are being followed and enforced
- Conducts oneonone review with all quality staff to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of quality staff skills, abilities and activity performance
- Inspect manufactured products for defects and conformance to specifications and quality standards, visually or using instruments, and nonmetric items
- Coordinate receiving inspection of incoming production materials to master samples, drawings, procedures and requirements.
- Through dock audits support the production inspection at various stages of the process, document results, and follow up on quality issues and nonconformance as well as ensure that previously noted defects have been corrected.
- Maintain sample inventory cabinets and storage areas providing visual and written documentation guidelines on approved, unapproved, areas of concerns and known issues for all raw and finished products as possible and needed
- Review work instructions and production documents for accuracy and opportunities for improvement
- Communicate and advise regularly with the Head Office Quality Control Department on the developments, areas of concerns, process and procedures and discussions of the company product quality and department advancements and changes
- Make documentation of internal audits and quality assurance activities
- Analyze the data to find the areas for improvement, determining, negotiating, and agreeing on inhouse quality procedures, standards and specifications
- Complete Supplier Claim documentation for credit of nonconforming product
- Support the localization efforts of supply chain with the evaluating potential vendors and establish quality metrics and standards. specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers and follow up on quality issues with Suppliers for corrective action
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, standards and procedures for the department in close cooperation with Headquarters.
Requirements:
- Certification programs in Six Sigma, Quality Improvement associate, quality auditor, and quality engineer or Completion of a college or university program in quality control, inventory control or equivalent education is preferred
- 5+ years' experience with Quality Control, Inventory Maintenance & Manufacturing processes and standards is required
- 4+ yrs. Management experience in quality control department work environment
- The ability to make considered decisions and to communicate them effectively
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- 23 years' experience working with nonmetric controls needed
- Proficient with the use of Excel, Outlook and Word is required
- Attention to detail is a must along with the ability to maintain a high level of organization

Pay:
$100,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
