POSITION BACKGROUND:


The Shop Foreman is responsible for the supervision of all shop personnel, scheduling, prioritizing, and assigning the resources required to ensure all work orders are completed efficiently, and within the specified time frame.

This position works with internal clients to determine required specifications for equipment maintenance work orders.

The Shop Foreman will be responsible for ensuring that all top-performing equipment is available to the Rentals and Project teams.


CORE DUTIES:


  • Effectively manage, schedule, and prioritize maintenance work orders and shop personnel
  • Identify faulty/damaged equipment and/or defective materials and delegate repairs
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment for damage when returned from the field, preparing equipment reports and estimated service costs as necessary
  • Repair, maintain, and service Ketek Group trucks
  • Utilize checklists, inspections, work procedures and safety guidelines to complete tasks
  • Oversee completion of Pre-Job Safety Instructions/Job Safety and Hazard Assessments and Proactive Safety Reports
  • Mentor and assist apprentices and personnel as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Red Seal Journeyman certification in a related discipline (Mechanic, Millwright)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and clean driver's abstract
  • Minimum five years' experience in the oil and/or construction field
  • Experience and knowledge of Ketek equipment (or similar)
  • Diesel engine troubleshooting experience
  • Loader and/or skid steer experience
