- Participate in planning, scheduling, and work program preparation for various Zone work groups, aligning with established processes and procedures.
- Convert the Zone Work Plan into location-specific plans and translate Zone awards into actionable work assignments for individual work centers.
- Manage scheduling software applications, overseeing projects/programs and serving as the Zone representative for enterprise Planning/Scheduling systems.
- Establish project milestones, monitor performance, and adjust plans as needed, reporting to the Senior Planning Technician.
- Address and escalate program/project issues promptly, ensuring timely resolution.
- Coordinate material orders, services, locates, and equipment to meet project schedules.
- Schedule engineering/estimating requirements for program and project work.
- Offer technical guidance to field staff for estimating purposes.
- Act as the Zone's subject matter expert in work order processes for program and project work.
- Communicate process requirements, monitor compliance, and provide training to Zone employees.
- Coordinate mapping changes within the Zone.
- Review work requests, schedules, and pre-planning activities, participating in planning meetings under the direction of the Senior Planning Technician.
- Analyze data on group accomplishments, workload forecasts, and scheduling issues.
- Identify and address scheduling problems, recommending process improvements as needed.
- Prepare status reports, utilizing computerized and manual systems.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
- Knowledge of electricity/electronics, computer technology, and operating techniques.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with others.
- Educational background equivalent to Grade XII education plus relevant courses.
- Experience in distribution operations and projects, understanding distribution systems, work methods, and maintenance procedures.
- Experience in work sequences development, estimating, planning, organizing, and scheduling.
- Experience with computerized systems for planning and scheduling.
- Familiarity with interdepartmental relationships and supporting departments.
- Approximately six years of relevant experience is required.
