Join us and let's work together for a better BC. Position OverviewYou're a strategic mastermind specialized in the energy industry who can develop programs from the ground up showcasing cutting edge energy products.
You're a natural at connecting with leaders and collaborating with peers to gain support for your projects, and can lead development with confidence in an ever-changing, complex environment.
We need an expert with your skill set to join as our Energy Product and Services Specialist.
In this role, you'll be responsible to pursue innovations in technology, connection policies and incentives, gas and renewable gas services, and other regulatory initiatives to enhance the value of our gas system for customers.
In year 1, you will:
Understand the Energy Solutions department, how we create value for our customers, and the various initiatives we're working on.
Assume the administration of ongoing technology innovation pilot projects and push for their completion.
Familiarize with FortisBC Energy Inc.'s (FEI) current renewable gas program, the proposed revisions to the program and become implicated in the development of tools and processes to administer the revised program in collaboration with other internal stakeholders.
Identify, investigate, and prioritize potential new technology pilot projects.In year 2, you will:
Continue to develop, implement, and improve systems and processes to support a revised renewable gas program, and assume it's day to day administration.
Develop and implement new technology pilot project, including technology selection, developing and pitching business cases, selecting product and service providers, and launch, based on the priorities from the first year.
Identify and implement changes to FEI's customer connection policies and procedures in view of improving access to the gas system.
Participate in regular and on-going regulatory filings and Information Request responsesWhat it takes:
A bachelor's degree in a related discipline, such as business administration or engineering, from a recognized program plus four to seven years of recent, related experience in business development and/or the energy industry, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Great interpersonal and collaboration skills to effectively engage with multiple parties to establish ordered priorities and drive for project completion.
An excellent analytical skillset for understanding existing programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovations for future implementation.A demonstrated ability to evaluate, take measured risk, and to move forward despite ambiguity.
