The Role


As a Parts Clerk Trail Appliances, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement and inventory of parts, supporting the overall efficiency of our operations.

Reporting to the Parts and Service Manager, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving customer complaints, managing parts flow, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to effective inventory controls.


This is a temporary position ending November 2024

What you will be doing

Investigate and Assist in Resolution of Customer Complaints:

  • Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.
  • Forward unresolved issues to service providers or managers as needed.

Parts Flow:


  • Identify, source, and record part numbers.
  • Order from appropriate suppliers.
  • Source alternatives for backordered parts.
  • Monitor and report severely delayed orders.
  • Ensure accurate billing information for incoming parts orders.
  • Receive, store, reallocate, and return parts as needed.
  • Update computer systems with relevant information.

Recordkeeping:


  • Organize and store purchase orders.
  • Maintain filing and storage of work orders.

Inventory:


  • Follow and maintain inventory management processes.
  • Participate in inventory counts and audits.
  • Assist in developing effective inventory controls.

To be successful in this role, you ideally have

Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain and organize parts inventory effectively.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in identifying and recording part numbers.

Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in data entry, inventory management, and order processing.

Communication Skills: Effective communication with suppliers, colleagues, and team members.

Basic Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.

Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to find alternative part options and address discrepancies.

Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with maintenance staff, purchasing personnel, and supervisors.

Adaptability: Ability to handle changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Time Management: Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Basic Knowledge of Parts and Inventory: Some familiarity with different parts and general inventory management principles.

Physical Requirements: Ability to handle job responsibilities with mínimal lifting (tasks typically not exceeding 25 lbs).


Compensation
$16.50/hr to $17.50/hr
